Willis has worked in the oil and natural gas industry for 45 years, retiring in 2015 as the President of Universal Well Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Patterson-UTI Energy Universal, providing a variety of oilfield services, primarily hydraulic fracturing and well cementing, throughout the United States. He continues to serve the industry as an energy consultant, working on a variety of projects including carbon capture and sequestration, geological evaluations, as well as other oil and gas work.
