All are invited to the next Karl W. Weiss ’87 Faculty Lecture Series, sponsored by the Academic Support Committee. Our featured speaker, Tricia Humphreys, will be giving a talk titled “Haemophilus Ducreyi Infections: Exploring Alternative Treatments and New Modes of Transmission – Insights from Student Research Projects" on Wednesday, 2/7, at 7 PM in the Quigley Auditorium. Below is a brief description of Prof. Humphreys’s talk:
Haemophilus ducreyi causes chancroid, a sexually transmitted infection, and a non-sexually transmitted skin ulcer disease. Both ailments are prevalent in resource-limited regions worldwide. In this discussion, I will explore student projects centered on treatment alternatives to antibiotics. Additionally, I will delve into projects that offer evidence supporting a novel mode of transmission. This is going to be gross and super cool!
