This Department of Music program features sopranos Carol Bowler Niblock ‘02 and Vicki Jamison, with tenor Kurt Hoffmann Hatcher ‘07, accompanied by Wendy Plyler and Ward Jamison.

The first half showcases solo works by Beach, Bizet, Offenbach, Tressler, Weill, and Zimmerman. The second half spotlights The Impresario, a 25-minute comic opera by Mozart in which 2 sopranos, one an experienced star and one an aspiring successor, vie for the role of prima donna.

Solo numbers include “Da schlägt die Abscheidsstunde” and “Bester Jüngling” with group numbers “I am the greatest singer here” and “Every artist loves attention.”
