Allegheny will participate in the inaugural Crawford Gives Day, sponsored by the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation, specifically to raise funds for the Nancy Sheridan Allegheny College Association (ACA) Continuing Education Scholarship endowment. The program was implemented 45 years ago to provide a limited number of scholarships for part-time enrollment at Allegheny College for women aged 25+ residing in Crawford County, PA to continue their education. More than 100 women have attended Allegheny with support from this program. Sheridan ACA Scholars must have completed high school and can have completed no more than two years of college towards a four-year bachelor's degree. Scholarship includes tuition for a maximum of 12 credits per academic year and a stipend to cover related expenses.
The foundation will match, with a percentage of its own funds, all gifts for registered nonprofit organizations made by credit card through the Crawford Gives website between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
