The Department of World Languages & Cultures screens “20,000 Species of Bees” (Spain, 2023, Dir.  Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren) at the Movies@Meadville at 7:00pm.

In this film, Lucia, an 8-year old transgender girl, is on a quest for identity. During a summer in a Spanish village house linked to beekeeping, she explores her femininity alongside the women of her family, who at the same time reflect on their own. The movie has won 38 awards, including the Spanish Goya Awards for The Goya Awards for best supporting actress, new director and individual screenplay.

Entry is free to the public, and transportation is provided, with shuttles leaving campus from Brooks Walk on N. Main at 6:10 and 6:30pm.
