Montgomery Performance Space
Allegheny College’s Dance and Movement Studies Program presents its annual holiday concert, “Cookies and Milk,” for families and children on Sunday, December 8, at 2 p.m. in the Montgomery Performance Space. Refreshments will be served at 3 p.m. in the Campus Center lobby. The concert has been a tradition for more than 20 years.
Many people from the Meadville community as well as Allegheny College students help to make the show a joyful event. Participants in the Special Olympics will dance to a holiday tune, and Allegheny dancers will include students from several Dance & Movement Studies courses plus the student group JaDE. Two local dance studios will have dancers in the concert, and Meadville community families will present a song and dance piece coordinated by Professor Emeritus Janyce Hyatt. A highlight in the concert will be a traditional Asian Indian dance solo performed by Dance and Movement Studies scholarship student Riya Agrawal.
In keeping with the seasonal spirit of giving, there will be a collection box for Toys for Tots at the concert. Audience members are welcome to contribute new, unwrapped toys to be gifted to a child who might otherwise not receive holiday presents.
The concert is free and open to the public. Please note that there will be only one performance at 2 p.m. so call the Dance and Movement Studies office (814) 332-2813 to make a reservation or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
