Held in conjunction with Student Press Freedom Day and Scholastic Journalism Week, this in-person celebration features keynote speaker Anne Rumsey Gearan ’85, Partner at FGS Global and former White House correspondent for The Washington Post, as well as an on-air contributor for NBC News and MSNBC. 

 

Gearan will be joined by a panel including Chris Potter ’93, government and accountability editor at Pittsburgh’s NPR station; current editor-in-chief Anna Westbrook ’26; faculty advisor Michael Crowley; and moderator Professor Emeritus Ben Slote. The theme of the conversation will be Hard deadlines, Soft Skills: What Working on The Campus Newspaper Has Meant.
