Allegheny Repertory Dance (ARD) Concert will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 27, 28, and 29 at 7:30 pm in the Montgomery Performance Space on Allegheny College Campus.

The concert is free of charge, but seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Reservations must be claimed in person 10 minutes before performance time. Call the Dance and Movement Studies office at 814-332-2813 for reservations or more information.

The concert will feature two student works. Sarah Margo’s “Cut You Off”is a modern dance piece originally choreographed for The Orchesis Dance Company. “Portrait of Movement” was developed in the creative process class last fall under the direction and artistic vision of Sarah Allison. This piece is based on a poem composed by Sarah.

Community member Doug Lodge has developed a piece using the Bottles collected from Allegheny College. This collection was gathered from one week's worth of “recycling”. Musicians Hilletje Bashew and Brian Thummler will accompany Doug with original work.

Erin Kylia Sumerfield, alumnus and guest Artist, is restaging a piece entitled “ Unbothered” which was originally performed on the Montgomery Stage in 2014 . Erin, along with Sara Margo and Liz Driscoll have become a tied together trio in a new work, “Intrinsic.”

A new piece entitled “Dog on It” combines pointe with Musical theatre in a familial way. “Waiting” originally performed in 2002, explores the rhythms of people waiting and “Beyond Relationships” originally performed in 2022, explores the impact of relationships. These three pieces were choreographed by Betsy Getschman.

The space is brought to life by the lighting design of alumnus Scott Choffel ’72.

Three performances will be presented, at 7:30 p.m. each evening: March 27, 28, and 29.
